Dr. Cheryl Orcutt

Cheryl Orcutt, C.A.G.S., Ed. D.

Dr. Orcutt comes from a background of over 30 years of experience as an educator working with students with a variety of disabilities including dyslexia. She holds certifications from the State of New Hampshire in Elementary Education, Special Education, Learning Disabilities, and Reading/Writing specialist. She also is certified by Children’s Dyslexia Centers who is certified by The International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC).

Throughout her career in public schools, Dr. Orcutt has always striven to be as knowledgeable as possible, in order to help students find success. In addition to a B.A., M.ED., C.A.G.S., and an Ed.D., she has completed training programs in Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing® (LiPS®), Seeing Stars,  and Visualizing and Verbalizing. Additionally, written language and comprehension training programs were completed with Project Read.

In her position as a special educator, Dr. Orcutt is recognized as an expert evaluator particularly in the area of reading, as well as an authority on reading remediation.

As the Executive Director of Windy Row Learning Center for 18 years, Dr. Orcutt as trained dozens of tutors in the Orton Gillingham methodology. Windy Row has helped scores of students with dyslexia to learn to read and be able to be successful in their families, their communities, and their lives.

Aside from teaching, for many years, Dr. Orcutt and her husband were the breeders and trainers of World Champion Morgan horses. Currently she is a well known rug hooking artist. Her rugs have appeared in books and on numerous magazine covers.
